“Cop Cities and the Expanding Police State”
with Renee Johnston

Renee will discuss the increasing number of police facilities appearing across the country, and the concerns that we should all have regarding this phenomenon. She will also discuss the history of policing, and its current role in advancing capitalism and suppression.
 
• Renee Johnston is a former educator and union member, a registered member of the Green Party of NJ, and co-host of a weekly program on Black Liberation Media. She actively volunteers with several mutual aid and political education organizations but focuses on organizing educational opportunities to engage with people on the issues most impacting the material conditions of communities, with a specific focus on police abolition.
 
• The Rev. Irene Monroe, is a public theologian, ordained minister, syndicated columnist, and can be heard on the podcast and standing Boston Public Radio segment ALL REV’D UP on GBH 89.7 FM.
